i’ve been obsessed recently, and think i will be for quite a while.

and soooo….found out that tsumori chisato was born in the city of Saitama, Japan, and studied fashion at the Bunka Fashion School in Tokyo. In 1977, she entered the Issey Miyake design company as the head designer for “Issey Sports”, later renamed “I.S. Chisato Tsumori Design”. She then started her own line in 1990, and presented her collection at the Japan Fashion Week that same year.

Tsumori Chisato’s signature style uses innovative and luxurious textiles, intricate beading, embroidery, appliqués and prints designed by her.

the “Maïnichi Newspaper Award” is just one of numerous prizes she has received in recognition of her design achievements.

for the bosnia-born but swedish-based fashion designer lamija suljevic.

•she is fixated on old hand-made techniques and parisian couture.

•her pieces are characterized by an abundance of pleats, laces, braiding & embroidery

• this is her a/w 2010 collection…

inspired by a childhood that was uprooted by war lamija’s work is imbued w/ nostalgia and balkan nuances.

these shoes are courtesy of fashion designer julia kaldy. the project was titled ‘unibody’ to draw attention to how the lower body silhouette depends on the shoe height. the nude-on-nude colors were so used to emphasize the idea of the shoes merging with the body.

notice how the shoe skin covers and is rooted onto the heel..nice.

Cath is hysterically blunt. She’s the sort of person who tells you you’re fugly before going out on a date…sticks up for you even though she knows you may be slightly bent… plays along with all the nonsense and takes credit when fingers start pointing …puts her diet on the line to go comfort eat in the kitchen with you… joins the waterfight when she’s got no spare clothes…and doesn’t mind borrowing your spare undies after…yeah growing up with cath was definitely ‘great’ (quote tita pilar).
